ABOUT ME

I am a photographer. That shouldn't be a surprise; you wouldn’t be here otherwise. Let’s be honest though, you are here to look at photos, not read a life story. If you landed here by mistake, click that menu button in the top right to jump into my gallery.

Still here? Okay then.

My journey started in high school. Photography 101 introduced me to the world of film, an experience I enjoyed but never became truly passionate about. It was not until digital cameras really started to take off that I found my passion. As a tech obsessed individual, the link between photography and my computer was just what I needed to get hooked. Carrying around a (very large) entry level digital camera for a Digital Imaging class, I took a set of photos that ignited the flame. These photos (don’t judge) are what made me think “I could do this.”

Fast forward years later. I found myself doing portrait and event photography. While I was pleased with the work that I had done, I started to feel like taking photos was no more than a second job. The joy of creating art was being replaced with the pressure of other people's timelines and was not something I wanted any longer. I then discovered landscape and nature photography as a new outlet to inspire me to love the work again. I slowly transitioned away from portrait work and found myself out in nature, working at my own pace and capturing images of what I found beautiful and interesting.

The transition from people to nature has allowed me to define my personal style. While I expect my work to continue to evolve over time, my style remains on the minimalistic side, focusing on particular elements of my surroundings.  In the end, though, I am simply looking to produce images I can be proud of. Images that look great on my wall and, hey, maybe yours too.
